There are several differences regarding the installation process, based on the exact operating system you use. Please use the right-hand slider to find instructions for your operating system.
Windows
Go to the Download page and under Download DeskTime for Windows, choose one of the following options:
- Windows (.exe) is recommended for most users
- Windows (.msi) is intended for mass deployment
If you are not sure which version to choose, download the .exe version. It installs directly on your device and is suitable for individual users and most teams.
The .msi version is typically used by IT administrators for bulk installation across multiple devices.

2. The file will be saved to your Downloads folder (unless you've selected a different location).
- Open the downloaded file to start the installation process.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
Once installed, you can pin DeskTime to your taskbar for easier access. To do this, right-click the DeskTime app icon and select Pin to taskbar.
After installing and launching the DeskTime application, you'll have to log in. DeskTime will open a browser window to complete the authentication process and take you back to the desktop app once you're logged in.

Linux
To install the DeskTime application on Linux, use one of our available options:
- For installing the current .deb version, use this link.
- For installing the version with AppImageLauncher, use this link.
For the latter, make sure you have installed AppImageLauncher on your computer.
You can use this link to install the necessary version for your computer.
Note! If you have a previous installation of DeskTime on your computer, it is necessary to remove the previous version; otherwise, the update will not be successful. Use the search bar to navigate to this outdated version.

Installation
Double-click on the downloaded file and use the Integrate and run to launch the app, and you will find DeskTime with your other applications. If you are looking for an Integrate and Run option in a Linux GUI file manager and it is missing, or if you are having trouble executing a file (like an AppImage, script, or binary), it is likely due to permissions or how the file manager is configured.
Note! In case you choose the Run once option, you will have to launch the app from the Downloads folder each time.
After installing and launching the DeskTime application, you'll have to log in. DeskTime will open a browser window to complete the authentication process and take you back to the desktop app once you're logged in.
MacOS
Use the .dmg file to install the electron version of DeskTime and save the file in the Applications folder. This is an obligatory step, and the app will not work if saved in a different folder instead.
Download the necessary version from here, depending on your Mac's processor. Intel or Apple Silicon.
Important! If you have the previous version already installed on your computer, it is necessary to Sign Out or Quit from the current version, before installation.
After downloading the latest version, the system will ask you to Replace the existing one and, if you won’t be logged out of the previous version, the update will not happen.
