By default, DeskTime is created to track all supported browser URLs. However, due to the large variation of DeskTime app, Internet browser, and Operating System versions, there are exceptions!
- For all Linux DeskTime app versions, you will need Browser extensions to track website URLs. See all currently available extension links here.
- For those users who use an older DeskTime version for Windows or Linux operating systems, it is required to install the browser extension. The latest DeskTime app version is always available here.
My URLs are not being tracked
If your DeskTime app is not tracking URLs but only capturing the name of the web browser:
- Check if you have the latest Web browser version for the most common browsers here:
- Check whether you have the latest version for other browsers here.
Opera browser
Opera browsers and any browsers that have a language other than English as their default language will need a browser extension.
The extension will allow you to have a URL breakdown for the browsers in question. You will be able to see a particular URL as an application instead of just Opera, for example.
For MacOS and Windows users:
- A browser extension is required for the Opera browser.
- A browser extension is needed if an internet browser is in a language other than English.
