In the Exports section, you can either use one of the six ready-made export types or create your own custom export.
Who can create an export?
The Exports section is visible to all users on the DeskTime account. Any exports created by a user can not be seen by other users on the account.
Employee-level users can create exports with their own tracked time.
User admins can create exports with their own data, as well as data from employees in the teams they are managing.
Company admins and the Company Owner can create exports with data from all employees in the DeskTime account.
Ready-made exports
Choose one of the six ready-made export types and click Prepare export. You can read more details about each export type here.
Once you’ve reached the creation page, follow these steps:
- Select a time period from the presets or use the calendar. You can export data for up to one year at a time.
- Choose which team members’ data to include.
- Decide how to group the data by days, weeks, or months.
- Choose your preferred format for the data export–an Excel or CSV file.
- Lastly, click Generate.
Custom exports
You can create a custom report with the exact data fields you need. To do this, follow these steps:
- Select a time period from the presets or use the calendar. You can export data for up to one year at a time.
- Choose which team members’ data to include.
- Select the data you want to include. User name and email are required fields. Then, you can add one data category at a time.
- Decide how to group the data by days, weeks, or months.
- Choose your preferred format for the data export–an Excel or CSV file.
- Decide if you want to save the export as a template. If yes, you can also add a title.
- Lastly, click Generate.
Download the export
When you are done, you will be taken to the Export history section, where your newly generated export will be prepared. It might take a while if your export contains a large amount of data.
Once it is done, you can download it using the Download button.
